Skate Cuba 2018
By Colleen Clark, organizer Skate Boston
Skating really can take you anywhere.
We recently realized our long-time dream to visit Cuba when we joined 24+ others for Skate Cuba 2018.
It was a magical, memorable visit to a world so close yet so vastly different from ours and, for decades, closed to us.
I'm honored to represent our group and give you tiny sample of what we did, saw and felt. I hope to fill you with curiosity and leave you with a desire to join Skate Cuba 2019.
"Legal Travel to Cuba for Americans"
"President Donald Trump has changed the regulations for the Cuba Travel Policy. Tourism is still forbidden in Cuba but Americans can still travel as part of our tours designed to enhance the contact with the Cuban people on an educational trip that will result in meaningful interaction between the travelers and individuals in Cuba.
There are only 90 miles between U.S. and Cuba. You can get in touch with the people of Cuba and their culture through our cultural and educational programs. Cuba is on the rise after our two countries decided to reestablish diplomatic relations.
Discover the way President Obama met the people of Cuba and get a revival of the days the American writer Ernest Hemingway lived in Cuba. You don't need to be a superstar or a politician to visit Cuba legally.
Join us in this journey to the biggest island of the Caribbean, where Cubans will present us with the best of their culture, history and the roots that make us so different, yet so close.
Since our people to people exchange program have been licensed by the OFAC Department of Treasury, you will come as our guest where all participants will have a full-time schedule of educational activities that will result in meaningful interaction between the travelers and individuals in Cuba.
Come with us as part of the bridge between our two countries: it's time to get in touch with Cuba."

Cuba
Cuba is a Caribbean island. It has sugar-white beaches and is dotted with tobacco fields, which play a part in the production of the country's legendary cigars. The capital, Havana, is lined with pastel houses, 1950s-era cars and Spanish-colonial architecture in the 16th-century core, Old Havana. Salsa music plays in the dance clubs and cabaret shows are performed at the famed Tropicana.
